Pickled Onions

           
 
A delicious topping for your favourite taco or carne asada.

Mazola®
 
 
Ingredients
 
1 tablespoon Mazola® Corn, Canola OR Vegetable Oil
1 red onion, thinly sliced
1/2 cup white vinegar
2 cloves garlic, smashed
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon leaf oregano
1/2 teaspoon whole cumin seed
 
 
 
 
Instructions
 

Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat.  Add onions.  Cook 2 to 3 minutes just until onions are softened but not browned.  Remove from stove and place onions in a glass container.

Add remaining ingredients; mix well.  Cover and refrigerate at least 2 hours.  Onions will keep for 1 week in refrigerator.
