Meatballs with Pasta Sauce

           
 
You can also use this tasty sauce to make meatball sandwiches. Or combine with cooked pasta and pour into a casserole dish. Top with cheese and bake until it is bubbly around the edges.

Mazola®
 
 
Ingredients
 
8 ounces whole grain pasta
8 ounces ground beef
1 egg
1/2 cup uncooked quick OR old fashioned oats
1/4 cup finely diced onion
2 cloves minced garlic
1/2 teaspoon black fine grind pepper
2 tablespoons Mazola® Corn, Canola OR Vegetable Oil
1 small onion, chopped
1 green bell pepper, chopped
1 jar (22 to 26 ounces) favorite pasta sauce
 
 
 
 
Instructions
 

Cook pasta according to package directions.

Combine ground beef, egg, oats, onion, garlic and black pepper in a bowl.  Form into small meatballs, about 1-inch each

Heat oil in large skillet over medium-high heat.  Add meatballs and cook 2 to 3 minutes.  Gently turn and cook an additional 2 to 3 minutes until browned. 

Push meatballs to the side and add onion and green pepper.   Cook for 3 minutes.  Add pasta sauce, gently stir to combine.  Reduce heat to low and cook another 5 minutes until all vegetables are tender.

Drain pasta and top with sauce.
