- 4 rib eye OR strip steaks (10 to 12 ounces each)
- 4 tablespoons Coffee rub
- Red Wine Mushroom Sauce
- 5 tablespoons butter, divided
- 1/2 cup diced onion
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 8 ounces sliced mushrooms
- 1 teaspoon Coffee rub
- 1/2 teaspoon sugar
- 1/2 cup red wine
Steak and mushrooms a classic combo made that much better with Weber® Coffee Rub.
Generously coat steaks with rub. Grill over Direct Medium heat for 12 to 16 minutes, turning once. Remove from grill and let rest 5 minutes.
While steaks are cooking, melt 2 tablespoons butter in large skillet. Add onions and cook for 2 to 3 minutes. Add garlic and cook for 1 minute. Add mushrooms, 1 teaspoon rub and sugar. Cook until mushrooms are almost tender. Add wine and cook over medium heat until wine is reduced to about half. Gradually stir in remaining 3 tablespoons butter. Serve over steaks.
