- 1/2 cup Fleischmann's® Corn Starch
- 1/4 cup water
- Optional: food colouring
When you experiment with this, you'll find gobbledygook behaves strangely! When it's wet and smooth, pick it up and play! Roll it into a ball! Let it rest in your hand. Watch it ooze through your fingers. WOW! It's shiny. Dull. Rubbery. Hard. Then powdery. To find out more, look up non-Newtonian fluids.
Stir corn starch and water together in a small bowl. Add a drop of food colouring if desired.
When it's wet and smooth, pick it up and play! Roll it into a ball. Let it rest in your hand. And watch it ooze through your fingers. Wow! It's shiny. Dull. Rubbery. Hard. Then powdery. Add more corn starch or wait and see what happens next! This mixture may be refrigerated in a closed container for continued use.
TIPS FOR LESS MESS! Cover table or work surface with newspaper or plastic tablecloth. Have paper towels and a garbage bag handy. Wear old clothes or aprons to protect clothing.
IMPORTANT! This mixture can clog drains. Please dispose of carefully. Let the mixture settle, then pour off the water. Scoop the remaining semi-solid mixture into a plastic bag and place in regular trash.
